In progress

As as user of Mixpost I would like to use the service in different languages.

Mixpost should offer users the ability to change the language of the UI

As an administrator of Mixpost, I would like to be able to create, modify, remove translation files for multiple languages.

We could make the Translation community-driven, maybe through https://crowdin.com/ or similar tools.

I think we should do this task in the following way:

First stage: We will adapt the application to support translations. We will prepare all the words that need to be translated. The source will be English.

🗓️ We plan to finish this stage by December 26

2nd stage: We will ask the community to help with translations. We will probably use this tool (https://crowdin.com), but I'm not sure yet.

If it's not too much extra work, please support locales (language[_territory]). This will allow to customize certain translations (such as colors (en_US) versus colors (en_UK)).

@Dima-Botezatu Oups, I made a typo: "such as colors (en_US) versus colours (en_UK)" (missing an "u"). And this is just an example to show that even for the same language (EN, FR, etc.), there are local differences depending where you come from.

Here another example with French:

  • fr_FR: "Aimes-tu les patates ? J'aime les patates !"
  • fr_CA: "Aimes-tu les patates? J'aime les patates!" (no space before certain punctuation marks)
